Josephine "Josie" Kressner has been named the 2011 recipient of the WTS President's Legacy Scholarship. This scholarship recognizes women who demonstrate leadership in the transportation industry and a committment to community service. Ms. Kressner was recognized for her work in co-founding Revive Atlanta, a non-profit organization that seeks to convert underutilized properties into community parks and gardens. The scholarship provides $3,000 and travel to San Francisco for the International WTS meeting in May.
Ms. Kressner is a second-year doctoral student studying under Dr. Laurie Garrow. She is also the recipient of a $11,500 Eisenhower Fellowship and a $10,000 Airport Cooperative Research Program Scholarship.
